June 2004
Hiya you lot! OK, I know things are a little bit late this month but there's good reason. Firstly, the web servers that host this site have been suffering from security problems which has meant that uploading anything new here has been very difficult, hopefully all has been sorted out now though!
Secondly my personal time has been limited recently due to family illness, everyone is on the mend now though!
Please forgive me if the update this month is short... i'll make it up to you I promise!!! Honestly I will... you do believe me don't you?
Right then, down to business! As you may have read on the message board Olga has all but finished recording the new album! 7 weeks, 14 hour days and only two days off!!!
He will be back in the studio later this week to do some final editing and to finish everything off!
The release date for the album is tentatively scheduled for October but as soon as we have any firm dates we will let you know.
My scheduled studio trip to get some photos and report on how things were going didn't happen unfortunately, but Olga tells me that he has some pictures which i'll post up here as soon as I get my hands on them.
The final track listing for the album has been confirmed as:-
* Our Last Intro?
* The Death Of Barry The Roofer With Vertigo
* Cheatin’ Chick From China
* Davey's Days
* No One Knew The Real Emu
* I Gave My Heart To A Slag Called Sharon From Whitley Bay
* Jean's Been
* Rita’s Innocent
* She's So Modern
* Chenky Is A Puff
* Caught It From Camilla
* Our Final Outro?
* Final Countdown
BONUS TRACKS
* David's XR2
* Tony Talks Tripe
* Yul Brynner Was A Skinhead
Once again time has gotten the better of me and this month's planned guitar lesson is going to be late. I can't apologise about this enough but rest assured that you WILL be getting your 6 string fix real, real soon.
Thanks to everyone who's sent in any scans or pictures recently, I have them all and they will ALL be featured on the site at some point. Please sit tight!
One last note regarding latest The Dickies tour. We recieved many e-mails asking whether Olga was going to playing bass for the band this time round, the answer to this question was no. As much as he would have liked to play with the lads again, Olga says he is too busy with his Toy Doll duties to commit to anything else right now.
The Dickies' tour recently had to be cancelled however due to singer Leonard Graves Phillips' mother being hospitalized.
On behalf of Olga, Dave, Tommy and myself I'd like to send our best wishes to Mrs Phillips and hope she has a speedy recovery.
'Til next time...
Ciaron
